Helpful tips
We congratulate you on your decision to lose weight and live a healthier life. Here are some tips to help you succeed in reaching your goal.
- Be serious and committed to lose weight. You are the only one responsible for your weight loss.
- Choose a program like ours that is easy to follow. It's going to be hard to stick to a program if it's a lot of work and complex.
- Follow the program you have chosen exactly as instructed. Cheating is the number one reason programs fail. Those potato chips (even the broken ones) may seem harmless but they add a lot of wasted calories and inches to your waistline.
- Exercise is very important. Start off slowly and build up to at least 30 minutes daily. Resistance training (lifting weights) builds muscle and increases your metabolism. If you have health issues, see your doctor before you start any exercise regiment.
- Drink lots of water - it flushes your system of toxins and keeps you feeling full. It's recommended that you drink half your body weight in ounces daily. For example is you weigh 160 pounds, drink 80 ounces of water daily.
- Don't starve your body. Your body is programmed to protect itself from starvation and will slow your metabolism rate to compensate. Eat healthy snacks to keep that "full feeling".
- Control your portion sizes at meals. This is especially important when eating out - don't feel you have to eat all that's served to you. Before eating, put one half of your serving in a "doggie bag" so you are not tempted to overeat.
- Get support from family members and friends.
